TS had mentioned in the early stages of this idea that I should speak with New York Roadrunners Club to get their inputs about making the dream of Run Walk India come true. At that time, I had rejected the suggestion as I wanted this to be a "For Indians, By Indians" idea, and it should in no way become a "Western idea imposed on uncivilized Indians".
Perhaps there is no harm in discussing with NYRR folks about the idea and get their support in this effort. Involving NYRR would make it possible for communicating effectively the thousands of runners of Indian origin in the New York Metropolitan Area.
Another big gain would be an idea on the Systems requirement for handling the operations of such magnitude - NYRR has been operational for the past 50 years, has around 40,000 members and draws upwards of 300,000 runners annually in more than 100 events.
