Inspiration and thoughts : RUNWALKINDIA (RWI)

Towards the project RUNWALKINDIA.

M/s. RunwalkIndia inspired dream project of dear friend NP. The idea of the project gives one an ample opportunity to think about a healthy living. It also gives us to look at organizing oneself to participate in events such as Games, Sports, Cultural, Recreational events and prepare one to be in touch with the competitive world. And the world of competition, once you have taken the plunge into this world and then one may get lost and also may get into depression losing out in the competition. Lets not be pessimistic about losing out and take to be a Winner and then this is what can happen, you just are so engrossed in maintaining your winning you tend to become aggressive and again you end up on a note where you have lost on your healthy competitive spirit. So what am I suggesting!
Just think what if an event can make you participate, involve others to organize and encourage participating. The end result gives you the immense satisfaction of achieving and tuning yourself in organization skills and the involvement of people who will recognize you as well. So one can utilize this event to fine tune their organization skills which can provide you the recreation as well improve your skills.
And what is that the participant gaining by this event, it is the participant who is the biggest gainer. Just a fine example of my friend NP who himself being a good organizer could not get himself to organize his health. If I say, NPs effort to just stay health and fit have led to this RWI, it would not be an exaggeration. Yes any event has to be benefited by somebody and by this event it is not one but all who can benefit. I also was excited by this idea as it showed me that the benefit is not limited but immense and invaluable.

So let me be clear and put forward what the event is to be and what it is aimed to do!
Many of us today are very much about the rate of health detoriation. Also people realizing to improve on it has also been considerably good. It has been seen through several health surveys how human average life has considerably come down due to the various factors of life adopted. So the thought of improving this human health is sure to be invaluable. And to be helpful to do it for your family, friends, relatives and fellow beings it would be a noble cause. That is what I meant when I quoted as the benefit being immense and invaluable. It not only health oriented but it also gives an opportunity to utilize your skills and talents. This talent is much valued in the society when it can bring accolades the society and country one belongs to making one proud.

Today we see people suffering from sickness due to lack of body exercise and they end up in spending huge amounts in consulting and getting treatments. Even the best of medical practitioners end up suggesting them to give ample body exercise along with good diet. We leave the diet part to be suggested by the best dieticians or medical practitioners. And we will take the opportunity to suggest people to get into a routine simple exercise which truly is very simple to do ie., WALK or RUN. Depending on your age and your body flexibility it is left for you to chose what is convenient. It is this simple activity which can help people to maintain their health. It will relieve one from their work related pressures too. It helps young men to tuck in tummies and lift up their chins and chests, it helps young women to have the most lovable hour glass figures. All these are just the other benefits of this simple exercise. People are very much aware of all these benefits but do not have much of an opportunity to showcase their skills and talents to build the nations pride. So it is just a small step towards it wherein we can improve the public health.

We are not trained athletes to run/walk long distances so I look forward for the shorter version. Events like 1K/2K/3K upto 5K (both walk / run events). As suggested by NP
to encourage the future generation kids it would be fun for the funloving kids to go for the 100m/200m dashrun.

JP Park, Chowdeshwarinagar, Mathikere, Bangalore; A Huge lung space created by the Bangalore Mahanagara Palike ( Bangalore City Corporation) serves to meet recreational requirements of all citizens living in and around areas. Many thanks to the BMP as it has given me this opportunity to think about such a place for this sacred event.

Restart:
No I just did not get excited by NP and dashed for jog the very next day. I had done it during my much younger days with my other friends whom I grew up with. I effortlessly could run the 5K at that time. But life made me take priorities of other things wherein my passion to run / jog / games came down. Body became more rigid. Even the small dash to catch the office bus left me out of breath some time, I wondered is it the same me who could run with ease. Then came this oppurtunity for me to test my fitness and put my health routine into reasonable fitness, Now trying to make up for all that i have missed on, I grab this present moment presented to me in pretext of a project. So I found myself not only jogging but on the path to bring in awareness about the positives of the running / walking / regular exercise. All this I am trying to do is because I LOVE myself , so the message I would like to give one and all is to LOVE THYSELF.

Just when life got busy and on some pretext you are given an opportunity to walk in a wonderful Infosys campus at Bangalore, Electronic city leaves one admiring with the creative idea of the people who thought of it. One more appreciating about the campus is that there is provision of bicycles to go around/commute between various buildings in the campus.

An Anecdote at JP Park;
There was this man doing his breathing exercises in his own way, He was trying to blow out air, not just exhale, through his nostrils. It was giving a small whistling sound of a rail engine. And our pal and co-jogger just enjoyed it in his own way sharing it with me . He said he is going to ask him “Is the rail moving front or going reverse” and assuming to enquire with the man tells me I am prepared for both in this way. He would go from behind him if he says “forward” and that he would just passby with a thanks if he would say “ reverse”. But little did he do anything to discourage the man which I appreciated and enjoyed the moment of the beautiful dew-glistened early morning jog.
