Found the SabseBolo web site which provides free conference calling capability in India. This is an awesome find!
Being able to speak with everyone involved in the efforts at the same time will help build better relationships among the team, and facilitates better communication. Of course, it would be better if everyone can physically be at one location and meet each other in person. That being an impossibility due to geographical limitations and personal commitments, being able to speak with everyone on phone would be a workable alternative!
The conference calls will provide for a way to monitor progress, follow up on advice being provided, address key issues and bottlenecks, and in that way ensure high probability of success of the running event on April 13th!
I have set-up a conference call for the RunWalkIndia team using SabseBolo service this Saturday at 9:00 PM IST. The conference call is scheduled for half an hour. Not sure if everyone can make it at this time, but this is not a big deal. Who ever can make it to the conference call can do so and get to speak with each other. The others can join in subsequent conference calls.

One important thing to note:
The conference call will be to a number in Mumbai, and hence it would incur STD rates for calls made from outside Mumbai. I have asked SabseBolo folks if it is possible to have a conference call number from Bangalore.
I have also asked them if they would be willing to sponsor the event on April 13th!
